– We the People is pleased to be able to offer professional
development workshops, content seminars,
and institutes for teachers and community based organizations
throughout the school year and during the summer.

Summer Institutes Offered by the Center for Civic Education
These seven-day institutes are rigorous professional development programs that bring teachers together to work with constitutional scholars from a variety of disciplines. Participants complete academic readings, attend morning lectures, and participate in afternoon sessions dedicated to the content and teaching methods appropriate to the We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution curriculum. At the close of the institute, teachers participate in a simulated congressional hearing.
Interested teachers will need to complete an application, provide a written statement, secure written administrative support to conduct a We the People simulated congressional hearing in their classroom, and provide a letter of recommendation from a past or present colleague.
